Rants etc.....

So I don't even know if I should be mad, set up my Google security keys and that all works, no problem. But then I try and check my 2fa since it only lists my phone number and no matter what method I use, passkey, password, email code it won't let me in and is acting like I am trying to recover my Google account, which I am not, I am still logged in, so not sure if I don't know wtf I am doing lmao

I would think it should show up under the passkey/security key section... but sounds like maybe you didn't enroll/setup properly then if it doesn't show there...

Ya, both keys show up in my pass key section of my google account, its seems to be Google not liking Windows 10 LTSC or just the mess of cookies in that browser, not really sure, it was stuck in an endless loop. Once I used my Windows 11 pc it all worked fine.

Just getting into using the Titan S-keys for 2FA and login, mainly my emails and important stuff, so far I have my emails set up, which was the main thing I wanted to add more security to. will be adding a few more keys to them over the next week or so, just wanted to start learning how these things work, since I am very much a hobbyist when it comes to everything, including life, lmao. thanks JD

EDIT: So it seems Win10 LTSC uses FTPM differently as it needs Windows Hello setup with a pin for passkey creation to work, so this may also be why it doesn't want to work on my one PC, as I don't use it or have a pin setup, thats's ok I can use any of my other devices to create the keys since I can still use them once setup on the win10 ltsc pc

Why don't Oven manufacturers (both full size and toaster/convection) incorporate a user accessible temp adjustment?

Every oven I've ever used has a qualifier stating that temps vary from device to device so you'd think it'd be something they'd let users adjust up or down. It's a simple screw adjustment on the thermostat.

A quick google search suggests that some full sized ovens have a screw adjustment on the knob which can be used to adjust the pointer up or down the scale on the control face.

are you saying their thermostat's aren't acculturate? the nerve, how rude!

Knob? What 19th century stuff is that. :p Straight buttons and digitally select temp on mine. Of course is it actually at 425 when I set it at that? No clue.

No thermostat is accurate out of the box. They all typically have a set screw for adjustment.

I did the maintenance on aircraft ovens for a couple of years and the main test for them was to verify that the temperature range was within a certain min/max at low/mid/high settings and adjust it accordingly. If it wasn't possible to dial it in for all three ranges the thermostat had to be replaced.

Yeah, my current toaster/convection oven is all digital, and it's out by a large margin (somewhere around 40F high). I've got a proper oven thermometer so it was easy enough to measure how far out it was, but my life would be a hell of a lot easier if I had access to the internal screw adjustment rather than having to do the math every time I go to cook something.

40F high?!? Damn that is way too much over. I should really figure out testing mine at some point.

Yeah, I'd guess 15F either way is probably the norm (maybe some of the high end ovens have better self correction, it wouldn't be all that hard to do) but 40 is definitely a hell of a lot higher than I'd expect to see.

I'd poke around inside to see if I could find the thermostat adjustment, but it's one of those thin clamshell casings which is all but impossible to put back together without the proper manufacturer's jig to hold it in place.
