Looks like I'm gonna be shopping for a new receiver soon. The Bravia 8 I just purchased has an audio sync problem that I don't have the option to correct with my Onkyo nr737. The only option I have is lip sync which does nothing to correct it. Dolby Atmos required. When it comes to receivers I'm pretty much blind.

I bought the Yamaha RX-A4A last year and its been great. The other option was the Denon, but I prefer the aesthetics of the Yamaha receiver!

What's the feature you need to fix your audio sync? HDMI 2.1?

I think basically all other brands, other than Yamaha, are the same company now.

I got a Denon X1800H for $697 through Visions (it was sold as a 1700H on clearance), seemed like that "mistake" ran for quite a few months. I've stuck to the X series from Denon for a few generations now, no complaints.

Like a few others, I have gone through a couple receiver brands, but am now pretty much loyal to Yamaha Receivers. They may not always tick the most advertising boxes (though sometimes they do), but in my experience they last forever, have a fantastic natural sound, and just work. I would honestly just go up their product stack until I get all my actual needs.

I hate to be that biased to one brand, and I would absolutely consider another brand if things change, but that isn't the case right now.

You've tried adjusting the AV sync on the tv itself?
Where were you on every other redit post on the internet dammit. 😎 I'll try this and see how it goes. Tv was set to auto, I've just turned it on. Seriously though. 99% of the posts everywhere tell other people to adjust the receiver settings or buy a new receiver with e-arc hdmi2.1.

I've been through multiple forums trying to figure this out. All hail the Lowfat.

Thanks dude.

*Edit* Recorded TV works properly now. Live TV is shit still. Dammit! Must be a bandwidth issue.

What AVR do you have? Are you doing passthrough for audio or PCM? tried with ARC on/off?

You could also move audio to optical if it's a possibility.

If you do have to buy a receiver, I am +1 for Denon. But I feel like this is a solvable issue.
