Receiver

Onkyo NR737. It has 4k pass thru but doesn't actually support 4k above that. 10+ years old.
Just to make sure, you have your source connected to TV, then just audio being sent from TV to AVR?

I still think this should be able to be fixed without spending money.

Definitely try arc on/off if it's possible. And try pcm instead of passthrough to see if issue persists.

No bueno. Ideally having the option to set the millisecond offset would be good.

Try optical? IMO setting hdmi to pcm and earc off should definitely fix issue as that removes the AVR from doing any processing. Something is odd. Not sure how it could be a receiver issue if you didn't have the problem before. Only thing different is the tv would be earc capable. But disabling it should fix it. Could also try turning off CEC to see.

Have you also restarted/killed the power to everything as well since switching the TV? Maybe just some sort of weird HDMI handshake issue?

picked up the AVRX2800H yesterday night. Visions has it listed at $1529 but they haven't listed the boxing day price yet on the website which they gave me anyway at $1289 instead. 30 day return policy so if it doesn't work I can take it back.

I gave up on AVR for now. I have a JBL soundbar right now, and its pretty decent, better than my older AVR in some ways. I am going to run it and a either a good 2 channel receiver, or a decent pre amp power amp combo, depending what I can find. Hopefully something good from the early 90s. Something that does not need a subwoofer :D
