Seems a bit premature based on recent weather. Weather extremes are occuring everywhere. Drought, then flooding. Low precipitation, then high precipitation. As the article suggest, they could have tried to adapt by using the lift all year for tourism, not just limit it to snow/skiing. Although the Alps & Europe do seem to be heating up faster than other places. However, if the Gulf Steam does shift, it's probable Europe weather will dramatically change to cooler.

I'm just doing some reading on the topic and globally it's the warmest summer in recorded history!

So it behooves me to ponder what a extinction event for humanity will look like? It won't be pretty!!!!

Winston Churchill had variations of this quote attributed to him:

"Occasionally men stumble over the truth, but pick themselves up and stumble on."

Another one I like is from the classic sci-fi novel, The War of the Worlds:

“It seems to me now almost incredibly wonderful that, with that swift fate hanging over us, men could go about their petty concerns as they did.”

― H.G. Wells

"we don't really know exactly what a pristine atmosphere is like”

A revelation about trees is messing with climate calculations. Scientists are learning more about “sesquiterpenes" vapors made from trees.

Something that's not talked much about, the planting of trees. So many trees have been cut down that planting a number of three trillion trees are estimated to set things better!

We would need to reduce the population so that we can demolish and reclaim infrastructure and farmland and such to plant more trees.
It's not a concept that goes over well with most people.... or corporations.
