HEDT needs to die imo. Especially when they start doing stupid things like the PCI-e lanes limits depending on what processor you put in like Intel did.

Stop castrating the desktop lines to justify the HEDT ones (cores, PCI-e lanes, etc).

Well Octa channel ram and 128 pcie lanes would be sick on next ryzen launch.

HEDT wasn't really made for gamers...though they did latch on to it because of the added performance. it was for content creators and the workstations they needed...a blending of desktop and server specs without the server price.



but, if AMD pushes what can be defined as a desktop by giving 16 cores / 32 threads and perhaps opening up more PCIe lanes, etc...it will open a world of hurt on Intel.
