Satellite dish + biquad antenna = extended wifi range

Have any of you here tried this mod and are you using it? We recently switched over to Aliant tv from Bell ExpressVu and now there's and old satellite dish taking up space in the shed. So I was watching an episode of Systm on revision3 and got inspired to try this out. The router is on the floor below me on the opposite side of the house, but I do get pretty good signal from it most of the time. Doing this mod would be more for something to do than to actually enjoy the benefits from it. I've found a good how-to here: How-To: Build a WiFi biquad dish antenna - Engadget

Once I get my watercooling installed this weekend I'm going to see if I can get together the parts for this and give it a shot. If you have any experiences with anything like this please post them here! I'd love to get some tips and info from you guys about this sort of thing. I've got a feeling that the hardest part is going to be making that biquad antenna, trying to make those perfect bends like that is not my area of expertise...

I have not built a bi-quad but I have read a lot of articles on home brew antennas. The consensus us these things are pretty easy to build. I would not worry too much about perfect bends. Sure, precision will be better but close will work well too. I think there is about a 1/4 inch difference between the precise antenna size for wi-fi channels 1 and 11 but if you build it for channel 6 it works very well across the whole range.
