Background:
In our church we have a projection setup with a basic small form factor PC sending video output to the PC monitor and the LCD projector. The auditorium or sanctuary is an odd sort of triangular space with higher ceiling in the middle, and lower ceiling over the left and right wings. Testament to the architect perhaps, it is pretty, but not useful design for acoustics or line of sight! Anyway, I've been asked to research putting in perhaps four to five additional monitors in various places so that the people in the wings are not trying to see the projected image that is high up in the centre section. Also we'd like to run special content on some screens like speech-to-text for people with hearing issues, etc. so they need to be separate screens, not just extended desktop (I think).
Does anyone have experience sending PC out to that many screens, and what equipment would be required? I've done it with multiple monitors off the PC GPU, but I think that is often maxed at four, and the cost for GPUs is... well you know.
I've started researching some Barco products like the PDS-4K, but figured I should check here first just in case one of you have done this before. Thanks as always!
