Not sure if anybody here has experience with creative's external sound card products these days, but figured I'd ask just in case....
Weird issue with my new Sound Blaster X4..... the spdif channel isn't a discrete output to my receiver, it also plays over the analog speakers which defeats the whole purpose of specifying a different output for my music output to the receiver.
With every other sound device I've used over the last 15 years I was able to set speakers as default for PC audio, but direct specific program/app output on it's own to my receiver and not have that audio play through the default speakers.
Am I missing something simple in the way creative settings work? (I tried the spdif "passthrough" but that works opposite and removes the spdif output while the speakers are active).
Scratching my head over this one.... not a deal breaker as I'm able to use the onboard spdif output as a separate output, but it really feels like I must be missing something as I can't imagine any reason why somebody would want the system to work this way,
