Should a pump make more noise when it is run dry?

I know, you should never run your pumps dry. I am just quickly checking my wiring as I am doing the final lock downs of cabling, so quickly checked the pump to make sure the power run was good. For the 2 seconds that the pump was running though, it was a lot noisier then I expected. Just wondering if anyone else has ever done this, and confirmed that its because it was run dry and as soon as fluid goes thorough it it should get a lot quieter.

I've done it, even while filling the loop sometimes it runs dry if you aren't pouring fast enough :)

Definitely quieter once it's filled and bled.
