A bit OT but it's gaming display related since some retro gamers are trying to find good old CRT for their old consoles. Didn't know they made a CRT that big back then and this guy found a Sony 43 inch in Japan and shipped it back to US.
Still watching but what a great story.A bit OT but it's gaming display related since some retro gamers are trying to find good old CRT for their old consoles. Didn't know they made a CRT that big back then and this guy found a Sony 43 inch in Japan and shipped it back to US.
I did have a SONY Triniton CRT. Sort of looks like the large white one in the photo near the beginning of the video. When I first put it on the desk (MDF) it was obviously too heavy - IIRC it was around 90 lbs. I had to brace the top of the desk with a 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" steel angle near the back and some angle brackets at the front - still attached to the desk. Overkill for the 22" monitor that I use for my Linux system on that desk.A bit OT but it's gaming display related since some retro gamers are trying to find good old CRT for their old consoles.
