I encourage you to keep posting when there's updates @Lysrin, I have dozens more jokes to make about SC's release dates :p

(I'm kidding as I don't actually care if it officially ever gets a '1.0 release' or not. There hits a point where it doesn't really matter with some games, such as Minecraft. It was a playable fleshed out game well before it was officially the retail release)

Yes, I agree. I was just using 1.0 release as a line in the sand that most people understand. You're absolutely right about Minecraft.

And keep the jokes coming... they sting a little... but they are good ;)

3.18 has gone PTU

Its a huge patch.
Yeah, so much added in this one, I think it'll need a decent period in PTU. I don't have enough time these days to spend in the PTU side of things but I'll be looking forward to checking out the new stuff in PU once it settles down.

Nice to see the first salvage gameplay being added to the game. I don't have a salvage ship currently but I'll likely work to earn one in game.

And the cargo rework is very welcome. That makes cargo running missions and game loop more interesting. It also makes it more interesting that with actually physical cargo now that won't all be destroyed when you take out a ship there is a whole other aspect of money earning there for pirates/cargo haulers. Even bounty hunting missions now will have the added financial bump of cargo to pick up and ships to actually salvage. That'll add another aspect of team play to have ships for the hunt and then ships for the cargo/salvage and transport working together. Cool stuff! (y)

It's a big update, and that always takes a while to settle out especially with new game systems added, but these are great additions to flesh out and add to the current game mechanics.

I actually think the joke now is who will release Last between Valve and HL3 and SC.
Sadly, I think HL3 will come first.

My son bought this game recently. He had so many problems he requested a refund. I cant believe it's been in production/alpha since 2010!!

I can, when your business model is to keep financing and prolonging it, they are actually doing a splendid job of financing their personal lives over 12 years while keeping enough people hooked.
Sad, but that's how I see it.

We should have a "frustrated about SC" thread so we can have this one for discussing the gameplay, changes, updates, and etc., and one to allow us to continue discussion of the other aspects of the game's development.

I would very likely have posts in both from time to time :)

Its a staggered release to and I will be way down the tree. I need to upgrade my rig to get any kind off FPS that's playable.

I get playable FPS on my rig these days. I'm not saying competitive first person shooter FPS :) but certainly fine for most activities. Performance I find has improved significantly in recent patches, but it isn't consistent and I do take a hit in FPS in the big cities and landing areas. Still though okay there, not a slide show like it was in the early days! lol
