So was wondering how I could get around this "smart filter" thing they put on the computers at work. Are there any in-browser websites that could act as a proxy or somthing, I don't want to download software that my boss would notice or interfere with anything.

They do that to prevent people from infecting systems and being moronic on their "WORK" computers.

Doing this will simply get you into trouble.

If using Firefox you could always use something like FoxyProxy, but really what is that smart filter blocking?

Is it stuff like facebook or stuff that could help you do your job? I know back in the day one place I was at, you could request a site to be unblocked if it was in any way related to work. I know I did it for a couple tech forums.

If you have a computer at home running 'openssh' or even a HPCS box you use ssh tunnellling to get around webfilters at work. Be careful though, because you could get into trouble at work for that stuff.

Listen to Kapt, smart phone is your friend. Aside from the filters, assume your employer is logging network traffic.

Smart phone is the best way to go.

If you need to, check out Ultrasurf. Its an exe..just run it, does not install and it will just tunnel your default browser...no config needed.

G-pass is also OK, but not as seamless as Ultrasurf nor is it updated as often.

Anybody else find it strange this came from a school teacher?
