Welp, 2020 has been a crappy year altogether and I decided it was finally time to overhaul the old 3770k build. Little did I know, that was going to be a multi month struggle to get parts but here's a little of what went down.

Managed to snag a 10900kf, Z490 aorus master, and 64gb of dominator platinum 3466 cl-16. Everything is taken out and slapped an old hyper212 I had laying around on to wait for water cooling parts20201203_214945.jpg

Ohhhh boy new monitors have arrived

Fedex expects gpu block to come in tomorrow (I have my doubts) but I should have an update with gpu block and purple coolant coming up soon!

......... The supervisor is always watching, judging and unimpressed.

Looking like a nice looking build! That distro plate at the back of the case is pretty neat. I don't think I've seen that before.

Looking forward to seeing the 3080 plumbed in!

Update: Fedex, (as expected) did not deliver the gpu block. Hopefully it arrives tomorrow so that work on the build can continue this weekend. At this point projected delivery dates are like abusive relationships, they get your hopes up just to immediately crush your soul.

Update: Fedex has Delivered

Block looks pretty nice (imo) but .... soft thermal pad residue was invented by the devil himself. Spent an hour cleaning stuck on thermal pad bits off the card. Also whatever thermal paste EVGA uses cured into a layer of cement and took multiple noctua thermal paste cleaning cloths to remove.

After installing the GPU block and realizing that the distro block in the back was a manifold, I decided to re-do the tubing so that it maintains full head pressure throughout the loop. Also tried to bend the tubing configuration in a way that "fills" some of the empty space inside the 900D.

All that remains is a few noctua fans that are coming in to do bottom exhaust (and will remain pretty much remain un-seen) thus the completion of this build.

Stay tuned! Wife's 011-XL build incomming.

Thanks guys!

@Lysrin Phanteks D140. Would have gone with a 900D specific plate but those are .... rare and the only one I found looked awful had a ddc mount =/

Thinking of dubbing it the crouching corsair unicorn puke hidden gentle typhoon actual performance fans build lol.

Update: since the WB was installed I couldn't resist some overclocking / tuning... and ... well this happened. This gpu is a banger.
