The best CPU cooler I've reviewed doesn't come from Noctua or be quiet! and it may not have the highest performance but when it comes to bang for buck, the Thermalright Peerless Assassin is simply the best you can find right now in 2022.

Thanks for this great detailed review. I am wondering what people's opinions are regarding the weight of the air coolers and the potential for problems with mounting some of these behemoths on a vertical attached motherboard. I can see how a good backplate mounting system would distribute the weight, but over time is there any concern with the force the heatsink puts the area of the socket?

Perhaps my next build will be some air cooled monster heatsink!

Still running a Thermalright Toughpower in my daugther's PC. Just sayin... Unwise at this point perhaps, but it's still going!
