How does a step file equate to an STL? Is it relatively easy to convert?
A step file is the most common 3d model type. While an STL is specifically for 3d printing. You can't really easily modify an STL in most modelling software. While an step file is super easy.

Do you use Fusion 360? You'd just upload the step file. Open it, then you could easily export any part in the step file as a stl.

Very nice work man, I just noticed that you started this in 2018! Talk about sticking to your guns, most would have lost interest or motivation.
This thread actually made me get into 3d printing!

Yep, I had to use a STL for my BMG before I found the step file, my memory usage hit nearly 32gb (my max) because of it.

Also being very lazy here, was this an ATX mobo?
