Havn't done a lot of soldering in a while beyond wire splicing which well out of all the things you can solder one of the easiest. My soldering iron though finally gave up I bought it when radio shack was still called radio shack and sold actual electronics parts. So used a new one for the first time last night and I was soldering wires onto copper tape that had been applied to acrylic sheets. Besides some sloppy flux application I managed not to melt any of the acrylic. I'd not be able to do a nice job on SMD chips or trace repairs as I'm a little to out of practice for that but I'm pretty happy that I was able to still do it at-least to an acceptable state.
