It's raining here in Halifax this morning and that is very VERY good to see!

My niece had the evacuation rescinded for her area and her house didn't burn so we are thankful for that. She got back in last night. Another relative is still out but we're hoping this rain is enough and helps turn the tide. My place has been sitting in the emergency zone, but we didn't have to evacuate. We got ready for it, but it didn't happen so thankful for that as well.

And also very thankful and grateful for all the emergency personnel and firefighters who have been working non-stop. I personally know three firefighters involved, the level of effort is astounding, and can't thank them enough!

Glad to hear. This year's fires hit a little too close to home for folks in the HRM.

That's good news! Looks like our area will need to be prepped and ready to boogie out of here this year. That means we keep suitcases packed and ready which is stupid annoying to deal with all summer.

After a week of rain, forest fires are in "contained" status and all the 5000 evacuated came back to Sept-Iles. Life as usual.

I hope the same to all who are dealing with forest fires.

I got the proper fuse for the stereo in the '49 Ford pickup my dad had bought off his buddy, so a good clean and some pictures and it's ready to find a new home. I wish I had room to keep both it and the '34 but it's just not meant to happen. It's hard enough keeping one of these street rods in good running condition, there's always something coming up.
