nope, any other pop set off my pancreas and no one knows why, sucks cause I love root beer but can't touch anything else, hell if I drink water too fast it can send me to the hospital, well if I drink anything I can drink to fast that can happen.

the only theory I have is when I first got sick 20 years ago I started sipping Coke Zero when I got home from a year in the hospital long before we knew what was wrong with me
No idea if you've tried or would want to but the only pop that I drink now is Zevia. They have a bunch of different flavors but I generally have their Ginger Ale, Root Beer or Cola. They also now have a Cherry Cola and it is pretty good.

No sugars and no artificial sweeteners, all sweetened with stevia. We don't like the sugar from the regular ones and my wife has reactions from the artificial sweeteners. Only real thing I dislike about them is the damn cost.

It sounds good and I would love to try them I have had problems with stevia in the past but I haven't tried it in a while, so I will keep my eye out and if I can find some may give it a shot, the good thing about those kinda drinks is no sugar, since I survive on pure sugar I really need to keep it as low as possible since diabetes is in the mail and the last thing I need is more health problems lol my doctors are amazed I dont have it yet which I am very happy about 😁

cost isn't really a concern of mine since I can't drink much of them anyway, also the whole not eating things saves me a boat load of money every month XD

how do you test while avoiding a hospital trip?
well it's kinda like playing with a live grenade, I take tiny little sips and wait very long in between taking the next one if my stomach is not happy which 99.99% of the time even after one or two sips I end up taking 2-3 doses of my fast acting pain meds and spend anywhere from 8-72hrs screaming my lungs out in my bed. Why I don't try new things too often since one attack is more pain than any human should have to experience in their whole life, chronic pancreatitis is one of the only things that can kill someone just from the pain level, your brain just shuts off and you dead, I have experienced a lot of pain over my life but I can tell ya I would rather get shot every day for the rest of my life then have another major attack, ya it's that bad, I tend to have 1-3 attacks a year, lucky for me it's been just over 2 years since my last major hospital stay only emerg visits overnight, not one admittance in 2 years which is great for me since I am known by name to most hospital staff at our hospital.

but I remind myself life could always be worse and I have a great life/family, so I can't complain.

edit no I have never been shot, but I have been stabbed a couple of times as a young man, grew up in a rough neighborhood, Regent Park in the 1980s it was the worst Toronto housing project. lucky me I grew up there lol.

I do want to add that this just explains my situation and how stupid I was as a kid and how unlucky in health I was as an adult. I have made a great life for myself and always try to do the best I can with my situation and always wish the best for everyone and hope they have good health and make the most of the time we have. We don't get second go arounds

those are 100% hospital visits I can't even smell things like that it can cause my pancreas to freak out and with those things, the likelihood of death is high if eaten, no oil, no fats is what most people with chronic pancreatitis only have to live by, but not me as time went on I was able to eat less and less.

Was in Portland for a couple nights on a whim and .... I really liked it. Actually much preferred it over Vancouver BC (most similar Canadian city I can compare it to). I imagine it's what Vancouver could have been like 20-30 years ago before most of the historic buildings became condo towers and it was flooded with money.

Washington park and the Japanese garden were great. Lots of neat little independent restaurants and pubs, etc.
