Rant with a positive note..... ;)

Amazon Music windows app just for whatever reason decided to stop playing music on my mini-pc which is its primary function so that's not optimal. It launches fine, loads up my profile, and allows me to select content, but the play button does absolutely nothing. :(

I've tried restarting, and reinstalling the app with no luck, and then thought perhaps it was something to do with the Ubiquiti ad blocking, but it's working fine on other PCs.

Finally decided to say bugger it and re-install windows. Here's where the positive comes into play..... trigkey doesn't offer a driver pack for this model, instead they've got a factory image which includes a fresh install with all of the proprietary drivers all ready baked in.

Maybe I'm the odd man out, but I love having a full factory install rather than depending on generic drivers from windows update.
did you welcome your new Chinese malware overlords?

Yep, they're more than welcome to anything they can find on that PC. :)

Truth be told, it's a surprisingly clean install. Absolutely no third party crapware that MS isn't putting in there themselves (spotify, linkedin, etc..... ), unlike the baked in crap I get with a brand name laptop/pc.

There's no "malware" at all, it'd have to be an outright hidden virus/spyware instance and there's no indication of that.

So I'm sitting watch some YT on the living room after finishing dinner. I think I see a head run across my front window from the corner of my eye. My cat is on my lap so not hurry to get up. Eventually I look out the front door.

Hmm. I sure didn't order this. I don't ever order delivery but don't most of these apps shows pic of where the food is? Maybe someone will recognize my purple door. No order number, receipt, etc. But I find it odd anyone would order KFC delivery when it is a 90s walk. 30 min goes by. No one comes to no surprise. 2L Pepsi, 10 piece chicken, LG popcorn chicken, large fries, large gravy, and a popcorn chicken poutine. Poutine definitely ain't going to keep. I hate wasting food. So I ate it... After I finished dinner. I hurt so bad.

Rest I packed up. Must say I've had a pretty lucky week so far. The free stereo, this, and I did no work again today. Feels good man.

Happy to going back to home after a week in Paris. Temp was a nightmare. Cold and alot of rain. Rainy everday and temp never goes up more than 13 celsius. It wasn't fun.

Currently at terminal 3 waiting for the plane. No heating in that place , temp lookolike is at 8 celcius. Wishing that pilot plane will crank it up.

Msg written at 2h30 am paris time

Just completed our first time participating in 4-H Provincial Show this past weekend. My daughter qualified for Light Horse Showmanship this year.

She's been working with a horse that has had zero show experience beyond the 4-H qualifying show earlier this summer. Needless to say her horse was a handful Thursday and Friday, so much so that we almost scratched her showing in the class on Friday morning. But with a bit of team work getting the horse sorted, she swallowed her fear and chose to show. I was very proud of her. She placed second to last, but not last ;) and we counted that a win given how her horse was behaving. The horse was very good earlier that morning, but so it goes with horses when "their marble rolls" as saying goes. Anyway, excellent weekend, lots of fun, lots of work, and lots of learning as you'd expect from 4-H, for her and for my wife and me!

Side note, the first ever Nova Scotia Stampede was running along side the 4-H Provinical Show location. We had access to the grounds, vendors, etc., via 4-H participation, but not the events without tickets. However there was a huge jumbotron set up so you could pretty much watch all the rodeo events just from being on the grounds. It was run extremely well, no issues at all, and I was impressed with the caliber of talent there for NS's first pro rodeo. There were competitors and animals ranked top 10 or better in the world!

We ain't no Calgary Stampede, but it was pretty well done!

Ooof KFC sitting for 30min and you still ate it? I can't imagine it was very good...

Warms up really well in an Air Fryer.
Not that KFC is great (at the point I'm going to eat this stuff I'd just as much make my own fried chicken).

Fries in the deep fryer @ 350 for 80s works great.

I haven't done the normal fried chicken yet but the popcorn chicken @ 350 w/ the countertop oven on air fry mode for 8 minutes worked great.

EDIT: Reheated the fried chicken in the countertop oven. Was fantastic. Simply the crispiest skin I've ever had on chicken.
