I mentioned in the renovation thread about the work I did in the attic. I was just going over the greener homes paperwork so I could get an idea of where I was sitting numberwise.

Presolar panels (initial inspection)
192
Post solar panels
149

^ From the actual inspections.

Based on what I did the to attic and fixing a couple other small afternoon type tasks
Skylight ~-1
Attic & Misc ~-28
Chimney sealing (got them to temporarily cap it when they fixed the leak ~-1)

In theory now sitting close to a 119 and a "Typical new house" is around 117. For a 70's house I'm quite happy with the results. The big punch list item at this point is a better furnace... those numbers are with a 80% efficient furnace still installed.

I was having issues with the server I decided to keep throwing memory errors when the 2940v4s were installed. Even after the 2609v3s did a full memtest and passed.

So 2x2940v4 + 512 Ram @ 2133CL15 now working.

2609s were capped at lower max memory speed (1600 I think it was)

BIOS update also reduced the fan noise (better fan control), to the point I can have a conversation next to it.

Oh just that part. It was quite noticeable. The BIOS update is bundled with BMC firmware update as well. The update seems to be letting the fans spin slower when idle compared to before the update.

I was bad enough I was contemplating a fan swap. Now I can't be bothered.

Getting great results out of some bonded MoCA 2.0 ethernet over cable adapters.

They're only 1GB devices so getting 950 Mbps out of them is pretty much what you'd get out of a direct ethernet connection.

The plan is to connect my Bell Fibe boxes to them in order to get away from wireless (especially on the PVR which is doing double duty over wireless).

Just completed our first time participating in 4-H Provincial Show this past weekend. My daughter qualified for Light Horse Showmanship this year.

She's been working with a horse that has had zero show experience beyond the 4-H qualifying show earlier this summer. Needless to say her horse was a handful Thursday and Friday, so much so that we almost scratched her showing in the class on Friday morning. But with a bit of team work getting the horse sorted, she swallowed her fear and chose to show. I was very proud of her. She placed second to last, but not last ;) and we counted that a win given how her horse was behaving. The horse was very good earlier that morning, but so it goes with horses when "their marble rolls" as saying goes. Anyway, excellent weekend, lots of fun, lots of work, and lots of learning as you'd expect from 4-H, for her and for my wife and me!

Side note, the first ever Nova Scotia Stampede was running along side the 4-H Provinical Show location. We had access to the grounds, vendors, etc., via 4-H participation, but not the events without tickets. However there was a huge jumbotron set up so you could pretty much watch all the rodeo events just from being on the grounds. It was run extremely well, no issues at all, and I was impressed with the caliber of talent there for NS's first pro rodeo. There were competitors and animals ranked top 10 or better in the world!

We ain't no Calgary Stampede, but it was pretty well done!
My sister was apart of 4h from about 12 years old until she graduated. She ended up winning a scholarship to a school in Alberta that focuses on livestock etc. great way for a kid to grow up man! Definitely stick with it as long as she's keen.
