Happy to report that my cheesy $25 Amazon TPMS reset tool worked like a charm!! Such a simple thing, but a PITA for us folks who like to swap their own seasonal tires. OTOH, (IMO) a perfect example of an unnecessary feature with a guaranteed failure point over the life of your vehicle.
So what does the reset do? Is this for rims that don't have TPMS sensors to avoid being told all winter long that your tires are running flat?

You'd still need functional TPMS sensors in your winter rims but it allows you to "train" your car on the new sensors when you swap over so that the TPMS error(s) go(es) away.

Which one did you order. When I looked at them for the truck at the time only a $100+ model seemed to be applicable. If there is a $25 model that is compatible I'd order it today.

I don't think I've ever had a vehicle where we had to replace one. And I've done about a million km or so in last 18 years.

Current vehicle doesn't have them tho. Had no idea until my tire was really low. Subaru for some reason decided to not even have it as an option in Canada. They instead gave us heated steering wheels.

edit: Looks like it tops out at 2022 models so might not apply if you've got a newer truck. Worked like a charm on my Chevy Cruze. (Didn't work for my winters so I'm assuming the batteries are dead on those rims).

I don't think mileage matters all that much, it's the life of the battery which is probably 6 - 8yrs for the OEM installed one, and apparently shorter for after market ones.
