Hi, so this my first post, and i came across this forum while search for information on a water pump; SwiftechMCP35X.
Google popped up a link for a user view on this little pump. thought id check it out and thought id tell you my story, and see
if there is any alternative options before buying this replacement pump for my built.

It all started back in the mid 2010's when a computer store advertised an unique pc case.
It was a want more then an need; however in late 2012 I had enough to splurg on it. To get to the point, it was the Pugetsystems
Mineral Oil Cool PC V4 DIY Kit. It took me bout 2 years to track down and order the Mineral Oil, and was worth the wait.
I have used the case on 2 systems; 1st one was a media server for myself, then eventually moved my gamer system into, then that
system was converted to my game server for myself and some friends, which it still used to this date.

Well that is, up to today - I had to take the server offline due to hardware issue; the pump. After 8 years of on an off use
and continuous use as a game pc & a dedicated server, the pump has died. For pushing an pulling mineral oil for 8 years, Id say thats pretty
impressive.

So to question, should I just replace the pump with the the same model, or look into something better and updated ?
Suggestions an curiosity are welcome ;)

I wonder if there's some requirement to pump oil vs water since oil could be thicker than water. If you can find the same pump, I would stick with that. Some people suggest regular watercooling pump would do just fine.

As a plumber who deals with pumps regularly I'd say go with the same pump. It obviously doesn't mind mineral oil.

If the same pump isn't available the DDC should work for your needs. Current pumps used in wcing are actually from the industrial world and are much more capable than people realize.

+1 to Jokester...

Looking up the SwiftechMCP35X the whole MCP35X series appears to just be a rebranded DDC anyways.

Almost all PC (non AIO) pumps are based off the DDC. I think you'd be hard pressed to find one that isnt.

Its a tried true and tested device.

The DDC and D5 definitely dominate the market but there are some others out there and I have had some over the years that were not.
Koolance PMP-300, PMP-500 and PMP-600 for example are not (pmp-400 = DDC, pmp-450 = D5, pmp-450s = D5S)

The PMP-500/600 specifically have always had my attention as they have head pressures that make the DDC/D5 look awfully weak. Basically run a PMP-600 at half throttle to match a D5S. I have no idea what the 500/600s are clones of or if they are unique designs.

DDC
7.5L/m - 5.5m

D5S
12L/m - 3.2m

PMP-500
16L/m - 7.5m

PMP-600
20L/m - 11m
