Heya all finally caught the message when installed a new 10Gb nic into the 2nd PCIe slot so I don't have to keep using a TB external nic but it seems it doesn't want to boot to windows after changing the required mode in bios.

Getting a 98-A9 code it hangs at 98 and the splash screen then A9 when it decides to go to bios.

And apparently I cannot save settings it'll hang once I try to save seemingly until end of time if I reset manually it'll shutdown then restart and go direct to bios.

Tried that still refuses to boot iv tested the card in my bench Asus sage ws x299 - 7980Xe it sees detects and Boots to Windows. Not sure what else I can do to force it to boot seems maybe this platform is just cursed.

Does it lock up like that with every attempt at a bios change... ie can you change other settings. I would check for a BIOS update if you have not already.

** M.2_1 shares bandwidth with PCIEX16(G5)_2. When M.2_1 is enabled, PCIEX16(G5)_2 will be disabled and PCIEX16(G5)_1 will run x8 only.
Can you use a different slot? The NIC should go in the very bottom x4 slot, unless you have something else in that already.

If you need to use the 2nd x16 slot, then you need to move your M.2 down to one of the Gen4 slots as that M.2_1 will be disabled. You are probably hurting your GPU performance a bit right now too having it only run at 8x.

This board/Intel platform looks really bad for PCIe lanes :)

Does this affect you?

JD and crazyea have a good point. It could very well be a shared lane issue on your board due to the limited pcie lanes that are available on the platform

I have 1 GPU 1 M.2 I did set it as it asked in bios and it just boots into bios I'll see if I can move it down another slot when I'm home see if it makes a difference.
