the 'Stuff That's Just Really Interesting 'thread

An EV conversion is kind of a tough sell for a Miata (1st through 3rd gen at least). They're about as good on gas as you'll get in a 'sports' car, but half the fun is the balanced weight distribution. The 3rd generation (NC) was supposed to be nearly perfect 50/50 balance with a driver in, part of why they handle so well (plus being smaller cars in general and not having a massively oversized engine).

Of course there's nothing wrong with doing it, but I can't help but think it's now less fun as a car.

I driven a NA Miata before and half the fun is revving the crap out of the engine. But with the claim of same weight distro and double the power, it seems to retain the same kind of fun. Flyin' Miata sold their ND V8 program to some shop in FL because CA was cracking down on emission on modified cars. From the YT videos, that V8 ND is a riot / death machine.

this is interesting. an article discussing the first known example of a malware exploit appearing, which was 1989. apparently around 20K subscribers of the PC Business World magazine's mail, and some connected to WHO, received a 5.25 " floppy. it's not a long article, but I encourage you to read to the very end because it gets interesting.
