The 'What are you watching' Thread

I have been a Star Trek fan since childhood of course the newer Star treks really were not Star Trek to me , anyway so I kept hearing over the years about the Kelvin Star Trek timeline and I understood the meaning, and I am pretty sure its related the series Enterprise, the kind of funny thing is that I have watched the last three newer movies of Star Trek, and before I never noticed this, but yesterday I did in every Movie there was either a sign or something that had Kelvin somewhere in the background or I think it as was the last movie Kirk literally said get into the Kelvin Shuttle I thought it was kind of funny for them to actually show or say that this isn't the original Start Trek Timeline

We finished Wednesday, it was a good season 2. We like Tim Burton's work a lot, so it was a joy ride.

But, seriously, why is Canada always the escape plan in tv series and movies? Land of freedom or are we just so dense that we can hide anything?

Now starting season 3 of Star Trek Strange new worlds. Let's see if it's so bad as you say :p

Finally watched Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning on the weekend. Good bit of fun as all of those movies are, but I would say not the best one. Actually the second last one was better than the final one imo.

But thank goodness it delivered on ol'Tom Cruise running and running and running! 😁

Yeah it was more like a recap... a lot of flashbacks/callbacks but not a ton of new story. I suppose it was a decent wrap up to the series though.

Watched the first couple of episodes of Talamasca: The Secret Order.

Pretty much a hard no from me.... first show I've ever seen with a "natural" pronounced "soap opera effect" which is relatively jarring, but on top of that, slow as hell.

Throw in the abysmal streaming quality of AMC on the rogers network and it's hard to watch even if the content was agreeable.

I am going through the same slow thing with Foundation, lol

Every post/review/headline that I saw for that show said it was a pass, even the trailer was poor. You'd think they would just shelf it and re-work it if the pre-release feedback is that bad.

Watched the BBC series Ludwig and really enjoyed it. Premise is a reclusive puzzle maker has to stand-in for his missing twin who's a detective. It stars David Mitchell who I really liked on shows like 'Qi' and 'Would I lie to you'.

Was a fun romp, very 'Agatha Christie' esque if you replaced Poirot with a nervous fraud who's never quite sure if he's been found out. If you like stuff like Knives Out, Poirot or Sherlock it's worth a try (though it's less serious and more fun than say Poirot)
