I've been asked to set this up on the cheap, and I understand the tv provider will rent a second receiver but of course there must be a cheaper way. The user only wants tv in two different rooms but same channel. is it as simple as getting one of these? I understand tech has improved over the years but I don't keep up on this sort of thing.
 
Splitters were going to be my suggestion too and to my understanding that is all you will need, my friend uses a cheap one for a TV in his garage and the one in his office, but he has one with a switch so he can choose what tv to send the signal too.

they should work. just make sure the resolution works for you.
