haha a single sentence ruined it for me went down a rabbit hole on youtube came out thinking damn starwars is dead.

Cool, capable and sexy the female lead this right here in the movie world is pure Necrotizing fasciitis. if this sentiment reins true in movie world it'll be true for this game.

Hmmm, well ok. To each their own I suppose but I mean a single line does not ruin things. And we already have some great games with cool capable and sexy leads, like Tomb Raider, so I'm not worried.

But after watching the gameplay trailer I am even more excited to play this one. Looking forward to this one more than any other Star Wars game in a very long time.

I watched the gameplay video. Looks like there's fun to be had there for sure. Some thoughts:

- "Arcady", especially the in-space stuff, but I'm fine with that. Everything doesn't need to be a sim!

- I don't care if the protagonist is male or female, just don't make the gender the point of the story. Just make a good story with the gender being irrelevant. We get too much of the other these days imo.

- I didn't love the humour quips in what should be serious situations. A little Han Solo-esque stuff is fine, but I much prefer if the characters in game realise the peril they are in and respond appropriately. Maybe they are trying to lighten the mood for an age rating? Not sure, but there was an aweful lot of that for only 10 min of gameplay. I'll get tired of the character...

- I couldn't really tell from the combat how much control you had over it. I didn't like the tag-the-target thing in the speeder bike chase. Other games have similar systems, but again it feels like something to make the game work easier for console/controller users. I also hope you can actually move and hide and use cover freely. Less like Division style combat and more old-school FPS combat (a guy can dream right? ;) )

- Definitely some animations, game systems, being reused from the Tomb Raider games I'd guess, but that's okay. Those things work fairly well, and Jedi Survivor, although not Ubisoft I know, uses a lot of similar ways of getting around in the game world. Some people may not like the cinematic story telling, but I don't mind that as long as I still feel I'm in control of the character and game.

I'll certainly be interested in the game. Always nice to be able to run around in a nice Star Wars setting. Not sure I'll buy day-one for this one. Enough unknowns there that I'll likely wait for some reviews.

Short behind the scenes video I had missed from a few days ago. Still hoping it's a good game! Looks promising.

Another gameplay video from yesterday... sigh. Maybe I'm just getting too jaded about games :)

I like the graphics and the settings, but the combat and game mechanics just seem very scripted again. Press this button now, character (or companion) plays the game for me. Move to next thing. Also seems to be similarity to the recent Jedi games except rather than a droid to fill in the ability gaps, you have a lizard thing. And why oh why must there always be x-ray vision?! Boring...

Open to contrary opinions to change my mind... please?? I'd really like this to be a good game.

soon as I read 'lizard' I immediately wondered if they're going to reveal she's got a Ysalamiri, the force blocking lizard Thrawn used.
