Unifi network DMZ equivalent?

Correct.

Yes, even with WiFi "disabled" and my XB8 in bridge mode, there's still hidden networks. Though my STB's don't connect to them, so I'm not too sure what use they serve.

If you do a factory reset of the modem, it should take you through the setup wizard and you can set the password yourself?

Yes, that would probably do the trick, but IIRC doing a factory reset breaks the home phone provisioning and you have to call back in to get them to reset it. I'd rather not call in on day 2 of my services and have them question my setup. :)

I don't have access to disable wifi all together, but I do have the option to muck with the channels so I set both 2.4 & 5Ghz bands to yucky channels and dropped them down to "n" only. Hopefully that will limit the interference with my internal network. :)

Took a fit and did a factory reset so that I could access the wifi settings. Unlike previous experience when I was testing the XB8 prior to release a factory reset didn't require me to call in and re-provision the home phone.

XB8 wifi is now disabled and all is good with the world. :)
