Agreed, and i like doing this kind of thing and hardware debate all the way around in any case,as well debates of this kind benefit the hole forum community at large so its all good :O)

Doesn't hurt to see what you could have done...I wouldn't have bothered fixing it up either.

With such low prices of hardware these days it really makes no sense to upgrade antique stuff anymore.

But for the price point conscience joe~jain computer user that doesn't mean you can't recycle some leftovers out of the old computer if and when possible in order to save a buck
As well in some hardware departments newer doesn't always mean better.
