UPS APC always turns itself off as a battery, but never stops transferring power

I had one CyberPower unit that had like a ground fault (the ground light on the back would flicker), so I opened up the case and found the lose screw. Tightened it up and it worked once again :)

Generally though I don't think I've had any full unit failures, always just the battery. Though over the years I got rid of the non-PFC/sinewave ones since they'd make the computer PSU whine pretty bad while on battery.

As for testing it, I think it's better to leave it plugged into the wall but flip off the breaker at your electrical panel. If you unplug it from the wall, then you are removing the ground.

Yeah I went to interstate batteries and there prices were only a bit higher than online battery retailers and vastly cheaper than cyberpower or memex
Battery world on 75 near the tracks is on of the better values for UPS battery replacements. There is a second location closer to st Albert but don't recall the address exactly. Iirc a few blocks from the costco.

I thought about that, but they're closed on Saturdays and interstate is a short drive from my place. It's always a 'how much will I save vs how much do I value the extra time and drive' to anything on the South East of the city.

only online dual conversion run off the battery 24/7, all others, standby n line interactive run direct until an outage. so this probably means the battery needs to be replaced, though u might want to connect via USB and run a diagnostic routine the management software has n check the overall UPS health.
