When you say Windows Phone today you actually say Nokia Lumia as I think they are the only brand still using WP in most of their products.

MS bought out that arm of Nokia, so it's actually Microsoft Lumia now. And the new HP Elite x3 is pretty interesting, but not for $999.

Also, if you can wait, the new Google Pixel phones should be coming in a few months. That replaces the Nexus line and will supposedly come with Android 7.1.

I was just reading about the update to the Nexus line. Apparently HTC is working on those? I may wait a bit... but I'm still mulling over the different options. Android is such a difficult beast to get a handle on as you not only need to look at the hardware, but also how the OS has been customized by each manufacturer. I know I can get a ROM to ultimately configure it however I want, but I really don't want to go through the trouble if I don't have to.

One of the things I like about the S7 is that it's 5.1". Call me crazy, but I'm one of these people that does NOT think a bigger phone is better. My phone needs to be comfortably able to fit in my front pocket, and the 5.5" and larger grouping seems to be just too big for that. Especially after you put a case on it. I know the OnePlus is 5.5", but it's footprint is among the smallest of those sizes. The Nexus 6P is pretty far over my limit at 5.7". Once I put a case on it, it's going to be an unwieldy beast.

Microsoft, HP, Acer and some smaller companies are producing handsets with Windows 10 Mobile on it. But to be honest I'm not planning to upgrade from my Lumia 830 until either A) A full Windows 10 with phone support comes out (powered by an x86) or B) My phone dies...

Is there an issue with the 950's that I don't know about? I'm just starting to look in to those phones now.

The only issue that I had (this was with the 950 XL) was the early batches had a squeaky backplate at the bottom part so if you were holding the bottom part you would hear a squeak, they fixed it in later batches. The reason why I returned mine was because I had financial troubles and returning it within 14 days gave me the full refund to help pay the costs to repair my car...

My vote would be along the line of what JD said. I bought a used Nexus 6P in perfect shape from eBay and I love it. Was $550 CAD iirc and included a case, two chargers and original box, etc. However, if I were you because of the timing I would wait to see what Google releases in Oct with the new Pixel line (Pixel now rather than Nexus). Like you said the Pixels are being made by HTC so should be good quality. Not clear if Google will stick with a cheaper unlocked price for the new line or not. Also if you wait to see what Pixel brings and then don't want that there will be more 6Ps on the used market because the Google faithfuls will be buying Pixels and selling Nexuses!

Personally I like the phones from Google simply because I am a fan of stock Android and more importantly the security patches that show up faithful OTA every month.

I'm curious about the Pixel phones upcoming, especially since they're due to arrive within the next few weeks. Although I'm hesitant to adopt one straight out of the gate. I wonder if buying a decent, used Droid isn't a better option and wait until the second gen of Pixel's which will inevitably have a lot of early bugs worked out.

Again I'll reiterate that the Nexus 6P is just too big a phone for me. 5.5" is the absolute max, and I would have to LOVE the phone to go that big. The more I think about it, the more I think an S7 is going to be the way to go, since I can find them within my budget on CL.

Sorry Caldezar, I didn't realise you said the 6P was too big. That's what I get for reading too fast at work!
