I just started Dragon Age Veilguard for the first time last night. It's been sitting in the list for a while now. (Like 200 other games) So far it's not too bad. It's a vast departure from previous DA titles, and I can see why people call it the 'Mass Effect of Dragon Age'. Although maybe more like ME Andromeda than the original trilogy.

I loved ME . I played through this new DA and I mentioned this already was very surprised when I started to lag massively during a boss fight,it ended up being that my 16 GB rx6800xt vid card was running out of ram because the game was using 15GB ram which made me lower the res then a couple of weeks later order the 7900xtx for more ram, but the game was I guess ok I will play it again with a new Character. I wished they would make a new ME game

Welcome to the party :) I still haven't finished it. The companion dialog and such is just so darn bad... But the game does have parts I do enjoy.

They're in the works on a new ME game, but it's likely not coming until 2028+. It's apparently a continuance from the original trilogy, rather than Andromeda.

Yeah, I'm kinda struggling with the dialogue and acting. And the art choice... not a fan.

Well you're worse off than me then! lol I don't mind the art choice, but it's definitely not like the original DA games so I can see why people would dislike it, or if you just dislike the cartoony look. The dialogue just gets worse and more out of place the farther into the main story you go. It's so bizarre... but someone clearly had an axe to grind writing it.

While nothing is confirmed of course, one of the teasers they put out has an image within the image that appears to show races from both galaxies. So it really is ME5, bringing together the OG trilogy and Andromeda. At least that is what many figure. Not going to even get into my theories though, not enough time to type that all out.

Not playing it yet but I did just grab Expedition 33. Looks good and the reviews are good so might as well get something new for a change.

Side note: Man I love how steam actually uses my internet connection:

Reinstalling Starfield as I type I haven't played it since well it seems forever getting tired of getting my Ass handed to me in POE2
I am curious abut Expedition 33 kind of on the fence with it

Played a bit more of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 today.

Damn, this is a hell of a game so far. It's what Square Enix has been missing over the last decade
- Adult characters with no token annoying kid? Check
- Turn-based with a timing mechanic to make it a little more interactive? Check
- Unique story and not tired anime tropes? Check
- No 'Nomura-esque' story that totally incomprehensible? Check

Don't get me wrong I can enjoy a trope-y JRPG if it's done well, such as Trails, but SE's been pretty lacking since FF X in their AAA RPGs and it's nice to see this turning out so well. Like BG3 reversed the 'turn-based CRPGs are dying' nonsense, I hope this does the same for JRPGs.

I'm still pretty early, but hopeful there's a lot to like here already. It is very 'hallway' like X (but not as bad as FFXIII), and the systems can seem a little overwhelming at first, but things get broken down and explained in a good enough pace to let you wrap your head around the battle system.
