what would you consider the minimum specs in a laptop to edit 4K60 video?

Really depends on what the source files are and even more importantly how you want to encode them. I'd recommend checking out this chart for nvidia -based stuff (still looking for a single-page AMD chart that has the same info): Nvidia Hardware Encoding/Decoding support

So even an old laptop with a GTX1060 will support hardware H.265 Encoding up to 4k lossless, for added B-frame support (which what I'm going to be trying in the future, it's supposed to make the file sizes smaller) you'll need around GTX1660. And if you want to go the AV1 route, sadly you'll need an RTX4050 or newer.

I haven't looked around for a little while, so if someone has a link to a solid chart of AMD GPUs and iGPUs (showing their own native hardware encoding/decoding support) it'd be really helpful too. Need to know what supports what myself for team Red stuff 👍

I have since learned that the videos from her DJI Osmo Action 4 cam are MP4...MPEG-H/HEVC (H.265) (hwc) @ 4K60.
