In regards to Intel Turbo (which Xeons have), Intel seems to say that it'll speed up the processor when one core is only going hard. For me, it seems to kick in for the whole processor, even when it's loaded down hard with [email protected]
Also, and I'm not sure if it's the same for i7 processors, but I see EEIST pulling the multiplier on one of my processors all the way down to 1x (133MHz processor clock) when the processor is nice and idle, and it seems to be able to use all the other multipliers all the way up to 18x (stock is 17x, this is with Turbo).

Hi that was a good write up because I had been looking at my cpu performance and was not happy with what I was seeing thinking my CPU was rubbish but after reading your review I realise I was watching it at idle not overall performance I will not switch off after all..cheers

Thanks for the great heads up. I haven't yet gotten to c i7 but will be soon. I may be an old guy who needs to use glasses to read this, and will probably forget it unlike Eagle Eye, except I'm not necessarily wise, hehehe.

No offense Eagle.

Ol' not necessarily wise guy
