Breville InFizz Fusion. It's pricey for a carbonator (even on sale), but I'm liking it so far. Made a few sodas, italian sodas and even carbonated some cold brew orange pekoe-straberry rhubarb tea I made which turned out delicious.

Only downside is it turns out getting bulk Coke zero, diet root beer or Fresca is an ordeal in Canada. There's two online stores with varying shipping costs, but the diet flavors are really limited and I love Fresca.

TP-Link C425. It's wireless with the option of a solar panel. The battery allegedly lasts 300 days. And you can use and SD card instead of their optional cloud storage service ($4/m)

So far it was super easy to setup and the app works well.

Looks decent enough, but OMG scrolling through their product website is painful. Too many page elements that stop your scrolling.

What I found is that unless you can buy bulk coke bags, it and the sodastream even up being more expensive than buying soda on sale.

This is what I plan to do at some point. Have a spare freezer. Just need to buy all the other crap.

Then try making some no sugar syrups.

EDIT: I think Praxair could fill those CO2 kegs. Should get on that project at some point. I drink a hell of a lot of soda and it could save me decent money.

For others looking at this idea...Check a local dive shop (obviously not for us in the prairies) or homebrew shop too. My local homebrew does a deposit system for the CO2 cylinders, and $5 fill/swaps. Saves me a tonne of time.

A homebrew shop will also carry all the fittings for the setup, regulator, connectors, etc.

If you're way out of the area of a shop lots will deliver too. Ontario Beer Kegs comes to mind; I used them quite a bit when I was living in the sticks of Petawawa.

Yep, my plan is to get a beverage grade C02 syphon tank from Praxair. They have them listed right on their site.

I picked up some kola nuts and root beer ingredients from silk road on Friday, but I'd like to have some 'name brand' syrups too. I'll likely be making my own concentrate fairly soon though.

perhaps you can start a thread that covers your project and shares the trip of excitement and frustration!
