Woke up and it was still 20.5C in the house. And next couple days will be up to 34. So it isn't cooling down enough during night. So I went out and bought a 12000BTU Danby window AC unit. Wanted a Midea one as they are listed as the most efficient on the Energy Star website. But it was the only window unit Costco had. $369+tax.

Get home set it up. It had wifi so I see if I can get it working with Home Assistant. And I find out its actually made by Midea. And sure enough it works on the Midea app that my dehumidier uses. A similar Midea unit sells for about $550 so saved a pretty decent amount for a similar unit.

I thought for sure you were going to buy a Mr Cool (or similar) DIY heat pump setup as your next project. A window AC unit is no fun! :ROFLMAO:

A physical window mount AC from Costco? I thought they only sold "portable" ones that have a plate which mounts in the window.

On my way home last night picked up one of these (Cheap 8ft x 8ft gazebo)...

house gets pretty hot in these heat waves but the kitchen seems to be the hottest and closing the sliding door and it's blinds makes a huge difference. I like having the door open (has a doggy door in the screen) so the dogs can come and go as they please. Last night at like 10:30pm started assembling it on the back deck infront of the sliding door so that the sun cannot even directly hit the door anymore.
