Which DAC Amp for a desktop?

I have been quite happy with my toppings. DX3 Pro and PA3.
https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?reviews/ as well imo. if you haven’t.

The DX7 has a good DAC but the amp isn’t great. SMSL makes a better ES9038PRO combo for way less money — M500 MKII Though you may have to order it direct from china as nothing is in stock (prob in a container somewhere ) or an EX5 if you find one as well.

JDS makes great stuff, can’t really go wrong imo.

Will one of these devices eliminate any buzz or popping from my 3 piece Klipshe pc speakers? I don't know much or anything about these really, but a discord friend recommended the Schiit brand as well. Does the DAC need to plug into usb to fully eliminate any buzz?
I sometimes get the loud pop when discord starts up. And I replaced my power supply and now my speakers will buzz between sound events in windows.

An older set? Did you check if you get any similar issues if using another audio source (plugged into a phone/tablet/etc)? Reason I ask is that most of the time when there are scratchy/popping noises it is typically either just dirty connections/electronics or a bad connector/cord. I would start with some electronics cleaner and clean up any rheostats (volume knobs etc), clean up the circuit board(s) in the integrated amps, and check connections and wires.

If it is any of the above, buying a DAC isn't going to do anything but give you slightly better sound between the noises.

I know this is an old thread, but I need a DAC for an IEM (KZ-ZSN PRo). Does anyone know anything about such? It is mainly for my smartphone.

there are a lot of options...take a look at iFi Audio's options. I think Fiio has a few too. though, the best advice i can give you is to go over and join HiFiGuides. you will get so much help there! :D

I only have a iFi desktop amp but I'm not a fan. I have an iFi Air and it has had the same serious issues since release. There was a thread about it on avforums.

Whole 2 years to fix one of the issues. No mention if it fixes the audio dropout issue.
