I'm thinking of buying some ram (Kingston KVR800D2N5K2/2G 1GB Low Profile) to double my 2GB but wondered if I get just 2GB will tRAS of 15 vs 18 matter? They are both older PC2-6400 at 5-5-5. Don't know if Command Rate matters but I'm guessing it does not.
I've picked up that DDR3 is much less forgiving for mixing but that DDR2 usually works. I know it's best to have just 2 sticks and use dual channel. I would either buy 4 1GB sticks or 2 and try those with my (2) 2GB Geil, again taking up all 4 slots. Whether I go for 2 or 4, would mixing be a problem if I try to oc the memory?
