i did try fiddling in the policy editor the first time and all i found was to disable ALL drivers, not this specific one. Can you find the specific one i should try? the terms are a little bit complicated
I'm sorry I'm not familiar with Policy Editor either. If you read the link though, someone mentions that the thinkgeek link mentioned by Greg is a great walkthrough on how to do it.

Although if disabling it via Device manager solved it...thats pritty much the same end result I guess!
it did not solve it because windows reactivated it and freeze. i was just lucky this time i could boot.

i will look into the link thanks

it works!

Thank you to everyone who helped me out and pointed me what to look for.

and also many thanks to Sagath for your devotion, the link with the policy editor guide was what fixed the issue. Now i can format and block that driver and no freeze :)
