Windows 12 will become a cloud pc?

damn MS going down in flames this is going to be 2 releases both bad in a row. imagine doing anything and your power cuts or even blips long enough for the always on connection to fail would it bluescreen?

well I guess it is time to switch it up or use a cracked version, I hate this MS, they have been watching too much Mandalorian "This Is the Way"

So Linus talks about it right at the start and I think he may be right ( really hope he is ) starts at 2:03

The death of PC gaming?

The only reason I "need" to use windows as an OS is for gaming. I'm getting old enough that I could probably hold on to W11 long enough to satisfy my needs in that.

There is absolutely no way I'd pay a high enough monthly subscription for it to be worth their while to administer it. Now, if it was something along the lines of an extra $20 / year on my MS 365 family sub (so $12ish a month for 1TB storage/office/ and an OS license for 6 PCs) I could conceivably live with that (since I already do the MS 365 for the online storage).

I only moved to WIn 10 because Steam was ending support for Win 7 and 8.1 later this year; only upgraded one of my PCs before M$ closed the loophole.

I have been considering moving to mac for a while now.
A Mac computer is a potential alternative for me the closer we get to MS shutting down Win 10. The more I see MS mess up Win 11, plus the trickle down to my Win 10 computers, the more I'm leaning towards a Mac. Also not comfortable with the Activision/Blizzard acquisition.

Sadly, the big tech corps all have deep pockets & are getting greedier, which is why I'll keep one Linux computer.

Covid busted & changed a lot things.

Yeah, but how would you feed your hardware buying/selling addiction with a Mac?? ;)

(...ahem... and feed the BST thread for the rest of us...)

Seriously though, I think you and @LaughingCrow would find things you didn't like in Apple-land too. I certainly do.
