So im running a amd 7700x stock with a Noctua NH u12s in a push pull config. My case is the Cooler Master H500 it has a max clearance for air coolers to be 167mm or 6.5 in height max. Low profile ram everything is stock no overclocking.
I know this cooler has some limits and i do plan on going Zen 5 9000 series when it comes out possibly x3d version.
I keep reading and hearing about Thermalright stuff well i bought one and it was L O U D at stock settings in face i could almost hear it in the next room. Yes it kept my cpu 10-15 degrees cooler but at the exspense of LOUDNESS VERY LOUD with the stock fans. I dont know and DONT want to use a fan curve optimizer either.
I want quiet but GREAT airflow from the air cooler HIGH CFM, LOW DBA like Noctua Low noise fans. Is my cooler good enough for the future? If not can i buy a thermalright and put Nocuta fans on it push pull config? Water cooling is also to noisy pumps and fans spinning not intrested in that.
Ready to listen and read your thoughts and pics if you have any on your pc's setup and looks.

Does that mean you don't want to use any fan tools in the BIOS either?

Are you looking to run your fans, whatever they may be, at full speed but still have it quiet? That might be a pretty tall order.

To your question about changing the fans on the Thermalright. You should be able to put any brand of fan on their coolers as long as the fan is the correct size and appropriate thickness. The only issue would be if they had some proprietary way of attaching the fans to the cooler, but I don't believe that is the case.

What about the fan curve that's more than likely built into your motherboard?

My personal experience has been that any fan profile above 75% tends to be much louder than it needs to be, yet doesn't provide anywhere near reciprocal improvements in cooling. I generally limit my fan profiles to a max of 75 - 80%

For CFM = More RPM without changing fan sizes. More RPM = More noise.

Thus the only way to improve cooling without faster/louder fans at that point is to increase surface area. Bring in AIO with noctua fan swaps or proper custom liquid cooling loops.

I don't have 18x120mm fans worth of radiators because I need them I do it so i can run all the fans throttled right down. Even then i'm using fan curve software it is kind of a must for proper fan control.

I just read your original post again, and the Noctua NH u12s is likely fine for future use, assuming it supports future sockets, and you're not overclocking.

If it is working fine for you now, I'd suggest waiting until you upgrade and then buying the new cooler then if needed.

Thanks, Lysrin, are they better cpu coolers or heatsinks i can replace the stock fans with Noctua's?

Better than Thermalrights? Is that what you mean? I guess it depends on your goal.

Here are some good videos from HWC that will give you lots of options to consider. Worth a watch if you haven't seen them.
