I want to try to get into multi-monitor gaming however i've run into a few little bumps or questions which i thought i'd ask those whom have done it already.

I am looking to do around 19 or 20" tri-monitor set up. I was thinking up to 100$ for 19" 16:9 monitors, is 120$ plus taxes a good price for 20" 16:9 monitor?

This moves me to the gpu to use. Right now i have an MSI 465 GE which is a 470 with a twin frozr heatsink on it. I was wondering if i should still try to keep my hopes up that i'll find a used 465 GE or 470 with twin frozr for a decent price or if i should go to red and use one gpu. I'm actually hoping to not upgrade whatever card i use for a while, so if i went sli i'd keep it at least a year.

Whats the performance difference between 6850 crossfire and 470 sli, anyone have any data?

That is a possibility though i was thinking going with a second card and keep those for a year or two

Already done. Pending those and my second 465 GE to arrive. I'll take pictures and some benchmarking when they get here

I've been considering a multi-monitor solution, but after springing on a 470, the lack of a solution from nVidia mirroring the same usability and ease of ATI's Eyefinity meant I put it off. However, if this turns out well for you, I'd likely consider grabbing a second 470 and giving multi-monitor gaming a shot, although that will depend upon whether the hacked SLI drivers for my AMD rig will even allow things to gel together.

Looking forward to the numbers!
