While I was away, phone not in use, not plugged in, just sitting on my wife's night stand, the Pixel 6 battery just swelled right up, so much that it separated the screen from the body! Very happy it didn't burst or go on fire. I remember the Pixel's had some issues with battery swell early on, but I never had any issues before. I also have other older phones sitting around, never seen this before.

It is currently in a fireproof container until I can separate the battery from the phone and dispose of it. Too bad. It was nice spare phone to have for travelling. Well out of warranty at this point.

I've had that happen with two different phones over the last couple of years.

You should have no problems sourcing a new battery for it, and the tough job of opening the phone to access the battery is already done for you. :)

Most battery kits will come with tools to replace it, and IIRC even some double sided tape to re-secure the screen to the body. (I'm not completely sure on the tape part though as I already had some on hand).

I had a battery sound card by creative that swelled and I cant find a replacement. Hope you can fix it . :)

I assume wireless charging? I had tablets and recently my s8+ (although already destroyed screen) bulge out recently. I believe wireless charging never really stops. The battery probably just prevents the charge at some point.
