intel has 8 core haswell-e coming soon and TDP is suposed to be like 140watt range. Also they have 8-12 core xeon parts which are clocked lower that range from 95watts for 8 core to around 130watts for 12 core. Those are pretty expensive cpus though even for 8 core one. Also none of them are...
That cpu was nothing more then an e-penis thing for AMD to claim they have only cpu factory clocked to 5ghz, but what little good it does cause power usage and you can get more cpu power from i7 4790 and save $ on your power bill
what were you using stock cooler on that overclock? </rhetorical question> TO many it fair have to use a binned 4770 cause that AMD is a BINNED part from sec it rolls off the line. i've seen 4770k's that can get 4.8ghz stable, no not using stock cooler but the AMD is not using a stock...
Even at 350$ sticker it wouldn't been nicely done. Considering 3770k/4770k are ~ same performance but a good 1ghz Overclocking headroom and this that if count the turbo which is 300mhz as overclocking headroom its only around 5-7%, on top of the 3x power draw over Intel parts. That is this cpu's...
i went to the page and i seen 877$. Newegg is 899$. Both being OEM parts so no cpu cooler, and no cheap 30-40$ cooler is gonna work. If at 65c it throttles down, it stands to reason be least $80+ is gonna be needed.
Considering a 3770k/4770k are in ball park of performance but at 1/3rd power...
