Quick psu question
I'm not out for a very good power supply just enough to run a 4650 but I am trying to find one with a decent efficiency rating. I'm going to measure my current power supply and look around to find out anything else I can about my space and railing etc.- Red Lite3

There's a new PC store in my town and I'm going to pick up a 400 watt power supply. My current 350 watt is 5 years old and the efficiency is probably useless. It says my power supply is a standard atx power supply and the switch on the back is at 15v, so would any standard atx power supply work...- Red Lite3

It says that it's good for 350 watts and the computer has had breaks every summer,winter and for most of 2008. I'm going to get the card on Monday and if the power supply gives out I'll get a new one. Plus I'm only getting 196 watts with a processor I believe is better than mine so as of right...- Red Lite3

How would I go about checking that. Sorry for my lack of info but since picking the psu for my new build was plain and simple I haven't looked into them in detail. My motherboard is a socket 775 and it's the MSI MS-7143. I'm going to look it up a bit but if you know a 300-400w psu that will work...- Red Lite3

My whole buying plan pretty much revolves around pricematch. When you say the sales aren't what they used to be you're definitely right but every site should have different products on sale. Hmm never bothered checking out any psu's yet since I only wanted this to tie me over till the ncix christmas sales but for 50 bucks how can I go wrong. Thanks a bunch for those links. Can't post the full specs but the components are a non overclocked pentium 4, 1.5 gigs of ddr1 ram, 2 120 mm fans (one was preinstalled one added later), 1 80 gigabyte hard drive, one LG burner, an MSI e-geforce 6200 turbocache and a set of old antec speakers. I'm upgrading an almost 6 year old compuer from a geforce 6200 to an 8400. The 8400 needs at least a 300w psu I'm not sure how much power it uses. As for the 6200 it requires a minimum of 250w.- Red Lite3

The card seems great, but I'd rather a lifetime warranty becuase I won't be getting a new graphics card for a while as I'm going to get another card for sli later. Also is the MSI overclocking better than EVGA or XFX overclocking? Another also do EVGA motherboards have lifetime warranty?- Red Lite3
