Someone was nice enough to point me to an SSD for sale on Kijiji. I consider that especially cool as they could have bought a brand new 256gb SSD for a good price instead of turning me on to it. Kudos!
This is going into a friends nephews computer. It has an AMD 1055T processor, 8gb of ram (I have another 4gb of close to the same ram but I'm a bit worried that will affect the overclock negatively), NVIDIA GTX670, BluRay drive, and of all things a horrible 250gb hard drive. I've already upped...
I'm just anal about things haha. Come to think of it, I can just clone the drive to ensure I have a proper backup of the original setup and then use the Migration tool just to get up and running. I don't really care about the recovery partition actually being on my system (just want a duplicate...
Good luck with that :) I was thinking of using Acronis as well until I started reading threads about them not supporting NVMe at this time. I figured they would have this resolved by now as some of the threads go back a good year if I remember correctly so it's not like they haven't had...
That's pretty much exactly what I'd like to do although from all I've been reading it's not quite as straightforward when dealing with NVMe drives. That's why I'm hoping someone has done it with an NVMe drive and can let me know any of their experiences and issues.
Thanks.
I'm hoping someone has been through this already and can help me out. I bought a MSI laptop that came with a 1tb drive installed. I purchased the 256gb Samsung 950 drive and what I'm hoping to do is image the 1tb drive with Windows 10 installed on it and put in on the Samsung. Then wipe the 1tb...
I just picked up my new laptop today and a 250gb 950 as well :) I can't wait until I have the time to play with my new toys and hope it feels as fast as it sounds.
I don't really game so the graphics card isn't all that important. Yes, I've spent some time with a 17" laptop and it's exactly what I want. The reason I don't want a real computer is that I can't sit for long periods of time and the one I have is basically collecting dust while I use my laptop...
I've been doing some searching and there are some amazing deals on Skylake laptops but they all seem to be missing something I want or it ends up way too expensive with stuff I don't need or want. So I'm hoping I can get some good suggestions. Here is my list of wants and don't want.
Ok, I...
Cuba, Mexico, and Dominican Republic are all in my price range. They have trips starting from $600 for 1 week all inclusive. I still may have to bump up my bottom line a bit as a lot of places charge a extra fee for single occupancy.
Hey, guys.
Hope I can get some advice as the more I read the less I'm actually narrowing things down haha. There are just too many hotels to be able to research all of them and my mind is becoming mush.
I plan on going for two weeks and hoping for an all inclusive and a total cost between...
That does look like a great built. I'd recommend 16gb of ram though if you can afford it. Once you get into 256bit textures it will use up pretty much all that ram. At leat that's been my experience.
A friends mobo died and need a new one to get up and running again. Looking for something in the $100-$150 range at most. The more sata ports the better as she has a lot of hard drives. Please pm or email me at nodscene at teksavvy dot com.
Thanks
It's a little late though as they want you to uninstall the offending update and then set it to hidden. By then the damage is done so this is another half assed workaround my MS. I'm hoping that smarter people will make a proper workaround for the forced updates (meaning non-microsoft people) :)
That's really the only reason I'm considering it. More PCIE lanes and more USB3 ports should give us lots of options on mobo's for things like Thunderbolt, NVMe, SATAe/M.2,USB3.1 etc. I don't see DDR4 being a big deal really...when was the last time ram was the cause of a bottleneck for most...
Seriously, does Microsoft never learn? I get what they are trying to do but this is the real world and it's not going to fly. The only positive I can see coming from this is it will force other companies to become compliant a lot faster. As an example, I have a client who does work for TD Bank...
Be aware that you may actually be moving backwards in picture quality if you are coming from a plasma tv. I know they use a ton of energy and put off a lot of heat but you may just want to keep it if your concern is PQ. There just isn't anything out there that will really compete with those...
