Hmmm.. Can't seem to get HFM working for the SMP2 - MPICH console client. I set the path to the desktop shortcut, but it only identifies the core and type of client, and doesn't give any other information. It works fine for my Uniprocessor client though.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Hmph, voltage was unstable, so I have to bump voltages up a bit...
Ran folding for ~24 hours straight...
What should be the ideal temps? I'm now getting ~75C. Is this okay for prolonged periods of time? Or do I have to find some way to decrease it?
Hmmm... For the a_3 core to be downloaded and installed properly, it seems you have to Run as Admin.... Or as stonee did, you can move the folder out of program files.
Okay....
Thanks for the tip Zero. Anyway I wasn't getting any work for the DEINO client...
How do you remove an SMP client?
Uninstall DEINO>Delete the folder where you extracted ?
Thanks in advance.
I managed to figure it out on my own.
The Folding@Home Website says DEINO is more stable, which is major plus for me. :thumb:
What do you mean its unsupported?
Thanks a lot burebista and clone63!:thumb: After following that great guide, I managed to get the temps to drop from ~85C to ~65C under load!
@Thund3rball: Thanks for the tip.:thumb:
Hi,
My Dell Studio 15 was showing temperatures of ~70C while Folding.
A bit worried, I left it in front of the A/C going at full blast.
Temperatures dropped to around 40C within 15 minutes. A drop of 30C!:thumb:
Anyone else tried something this strange?
Hi,
I have a Dell Studio 15 Laptop with 2.16 Ghz Core 2 Duo processor, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 series.
Whenever I play games like UT2004, temperatures of the processor and graphics card shoot up to ~80C.
Idle, the temps are ~40-45C. The ambient temperature is around 30C.
Are these normal...
Thanks for the replies guys!
@Ilya: You're right, its really hot(~31C) right now...
Does anyone have some experience with MSI motherboards? Just need some reliability feedback..
Thanks again.
Thanks, LarkStarr. I don't think there will be much overclocking. I selected the RAM for future proofing.
Isn't 650W enough for this rig?
SSDs are too costly, though. :)
BTW does anyone have the same or similar configuration? I just want to see the reliability of the components working...
