I have Hacked a couple of P5Q-Pro machines and one P5K-SE machine. I wouldn't call it easy. It will take a fair bit of reading to even understand the terminology being used in those forums. Once you do get the terminology and techniques down then you need to find a good guide for the particular...
+1 for Insanelymac forum. You will almost certainly find a guide for your motherboard particularly if it is an Intel chipset.
Personally I use whatever technology makes sense (i.e. I don't consider myself either a Mac or PC snob). My video server is a Hackintosh (ASUS P5Q-PRO with Q6600 @...
Up for sale is my beloved XFX GTX260 XXX Edition card. Buyer will be eligible for the double lifetime warranty. This spent most of it's life under water with my D-tek GFX Fusion and uniblock setup (hitting mid 40's under load). This was a great overclocker and under water it overclocked to 783...
If you are an overclocker then go for the 5850. If you want excellent out of the box performance then get the 5870 for $78 more. If you want to heat your place for the summer then wait for the Fermi
Well I had it at $130 for about 2 weeks on here and there was zero interest. Had offers of $100 including shipping but finally someone offered $100 plus shipping. Maybe my timing was just bad :blarg:
The card has no issues and 512MB is tons if you are gaming at 1680X1050 as I was. It is not until you get into the stratospheric resolutions that you can notice the reduced frame buffer. 1GB versions are more about "feel good" than actual performance at the resolutions that most of us play at.
SOLD... ATI 4870 512MB + BONUS 4870
SOLD TO SHOCKTHEBOX
Up for grabs after my upgrade to a 5870 :thumb:
ATI branded HD 4870 512MB version. I ran this card at stock other than a few experiments to see what it could do overclocked. Seemed to run alright at 825MHz at stock voltage (Furmarked...
Bump. Got almost everything now. Just need a video card. Currently using a GTX260 from another build just to get the Snow Leopard OS installed.... talk about overkill
