Yes, some blue or white would fit with the mobo better but right after I bought the board a whole bunch of other m-itx boards were announced. I might swap for one of those but so far I am happy with the ASUS.
Getting better with the sleeving :D
Might as well plug those sleeved cables in :bleh:
Thought I'd reuse the plugs from the GTX670 on the motherboard, looks cool eh? :punk:
Parting shot of the system as it sits now, going to make time for super sexy final finished build pictures.:thumb:
It's been awhile
It's GPU update time
Could it be...?
Yes, it is. A Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo II. Had the watercooling enthusiasts fooled for a second.
However, with that cooler my GTX670 is now 3 slots tall and the Prodigy only has space for 2...
Like all modding...
(Yet Another Prodigy)
I'm going to be pretty blunt here. I bought a Bitfenix Prodigy. It is black.
In it, I am going to put ...*drumroll*
ASUS' P8Z77-I Deluxe. I know, big surprise.
And in that motherboard I will put a i7-3770k. I believe you should go big or go home.
(Get it, it's a SFF...
After looking at the pictures of the AX series, I see part of the issue:
The female ports on the Strider stick out from the PSU ~4mm, thus the wires have that much less space to bend upwards/sideways.
Not that I mind getting out my Dremel, I have one gripe about the Prodigy.
My power supply is within the 160mm length restriction and I know the plate directly in front of the PSU has holes for mounting 2.5" drives.
However, because it is completely modular I has no chance at all of getting my...
Just rent a UHaul. Pick the size you think you need then get one size up from that and tow the car on a dolley.
Also, nice flip on the mobo. A triple rad looks like it will fit in terms of length but it's thickness might bugger-up your lower PCI-E slots and mobo connectors.
Oh do I have some catching up to do...
I've since plumbed, filled, bled, cut the sidepanel, finished painting and completed the build. Lets just get on with it and thrown down some pics.
We'll see how my new 470 handles BF3 before I decide if it gets a waterblock or not...
This is pretty much going to be a picture dump of me assembling what I have so far.
Rigged up a sort of photobooth thing on my kitchen table using a sheet.
and dust!
Last pieces of the case:
Hehe fingerprints
My refurbed and de-stickered GTX 470
Now, let's assemble some...
Title really says it all. A friend asked me to take a look at his Acer (AM5620-E1204A, if that matters) because it was behaving badly.
At first I thought it was the video card since it would blackout randomly but that seems to be rectified with a driver update since it has old vista drivers...
They were an absolute nightmare to remove. I started by turn it clockwise then counter clockwise, back and forth but that didn't do a thing. If you look at the switches from the front of the case there's the 4 tabs(on in each corner) on your side of the front panel and then on the inside of the...
For the bracket, the fans on the outside and the rad will sandwich around the brakcet, the fans won't be perfectly flush but I might use a touch of rubber as a gasket to even them out. The reason I kept the middle part of the bracket intact is because I removed all the cross members on the front...
mini-update: wifi card
I'm not going to bother running Ethernet through this house (frankly, that's a landlord problem) so I'll need to use my wireless card again. It's just a ASUS PCE-N13 but I've dressed it up a bit to fit the build better.
Sounds like a steal. The CR-V, despite my distaste for SUVs, is one of the few I can praise. Took a very smart man to raise a Civic further off the ground and give it 4WD and have it actually work in a world where most are lowered to an inch or two from the pavement, painted neon green and have...
A decent set of ice radials and not driving like a moron will make any car safe in the winter. I've mostly had mid 90s Honda's/Toyota's and they've been easy to work on and parts are easy to find. My last 94 Corolla was beyond abused and it stuck it out until this summer (#1 cylinder crank...
Well this isn't a manufacturer but I was highly impressed with dealing with them on an RMA/product replacement
Company Name: Memory Express
Product: OCZ Vertex 2 60GB SSD
Warranty Period: (manufacturer warranty)
Date purchased: Dec 28 2010
Date RMAed: early ~Feb 2011
Where it was sent to...
If I may make a suggestion:
That'll keep the overall footprint down, still give you an ODD and let you have a blank slate for the carry handle of your choice (or not even have one for that matter).
Nonetheless, I love old/Dell/HP case mods so keep it up this is sweet.
This will be round 2 on my current rig. To sum it up quickly:
eVGA x58 SLI LE w/ EK fullboard block
Core i7 920 w/ EK Supreme LT
3X2GB Corsair Dominator
eVGA GTX 275 1792MB
Silverstone Strider Plus 1000W all resleeved red and black
EK DCP 4.0 pump with res combo
Swiftech dual slim rad, Feser...
