This is not exactly a new build.
So here's the deal, I have a sudden urge to go crossfire but the thing is, I don't want to upgrade my CPU as it's still working well for me. Problem is, there are hardly any mobos left that allow crossfire with a 775 socket and I'm still using DDR2 memory. I...
Ok well here is the story, after getting a PSU upgrade and a new 23" monitor I got a HD4890 which died on me so I had to RMA it back to Ncix . Well the 4000 series are now EOL so I will be getting a refund instead of a replacement so now I need to find a nice card that will run good on 23"...
Okay now I am really unsure/confused. So so far the computer has been running fine, I just did an hour long test on OCCT and it worked fine, before computer would usually crash about 1 minute into the test. Some of the games that usually crashed a few minutes in I can get about 30 to 1 hours of...
I guess it is time to RMA, just wanted to make sure it was not my computer's fault. Anyway should I deal with NCIX where I bought the card or with XFX? I live in Ontario and NCIX is in BC while XFX headquarters are in California... I also have a $20 mail in rebate which I need to get out within...
I just underclocked the GPU and memory to minus 100Mhz and still dies. My PSU is a new Corsair TW650w which I used for about 1 week. I'm quite certain it's the card that is causing the issues unless the new PSU's 6pin pcie somehow is messed up while all the sata, molex, 24pin mobo etc...
It's not a factory OC here is the exact card type 'HD-489X-ZSFC', seems like a cheapen version from the old XFX 4890s. It's ridiculous though, how does going over 60c make the card die? My old 8600 would game at 100 degrees (yes was full of dust lol). I'm going to underclock it to see if it...
Ok so I think I've somewhat fixed it to the point where it only crashes when I'm doing some gaming. Normal computer usage seems to be perfectly fine. The problem is, according to my GPUZ log once it hits around 64 degrees screen goes blank/black and card fan starts spinning at 100% (even if I...
Even though I installed the drivers for the card, apparently they aren't really installed yet for some reason so GPUZ can't detect the card. (I uninstalled my old card's drivers and installed the new cards driver while the old one was still in so that might be why it's not properly installed)...
I just received my new XFX 4890 card to replace my old eVGA 8600GT.
After plugging everything in, I turned on my computer and it seemed to boot fine. After a bit however, I can hear the fan spinning very loudly and my screen goes blank so I need to shutdown my computer. I decide the install the...
I just bought this during the NCIX boxing day sale. Anyway, I have a question to those who already have this. Although it's an odd resolution, most games have a support for that resolution right?
Kinda out of the monitor loop seeing as I use two 15" monitors (bought one of them loooong time...
I just bought the XFX 4890 on the ncix boxing day sale yesterday. If the 5770 was also XFX I would have gotten it but like others said, lifetime warranty is nice. Feelsgoodman
I'm not going to bother with modular so I'm going for that Corsair PSU. Since this opens up more GPU options (PCIe pins and power) I might consider some other ones. Will update when I get the PSU installed.
What problem did you have? How's the card working out for you?
I'm probably going to get the Corsair TX650W unless there is something better/deals. Thanks a lot guys.
Had a feeling I should buy a new PSU. Fuuuu that's 3 things I need to buy now.
Got any recommendations for a new PSU? If I get a new one I guess I can be more open to different kinds of gfx cards.
Edit: been checking out this one, I don't know that much about PSU
